Audit services

Audits are a necessary function in society to provide assurance to stakeholders that everything is as it should be. Audits vary in their scope and are adapted to suit the purpose of the audit – be it financial, compliance or performance.

An audit can reveal discrepancies or inaccuracies which may indicate flaws in the financial practices of the entity, or in a worst case scenario, uncover fraud. For more specific information on the types of audits we offer, please click on the tabs below or contact us for a chat or to make an appointment.

Real Estate / Management Rights Statutory Trust Account Audit

Audit and compliance obligations associated with real estate / management rights statutory trust accounts and licensing need not be a cause of stress and anxiety. We are a firm with extensive experience in statutory trust account audit and as such, our knowledge and experience will help to ensure that your business meets its obligations.

All audits are conducted with sensitivity and in a manner causing as little disruption to your business as possible.

To ensure your business meets its obligations, and meets those obligations by the required deadlines, we will offer clear and timely advice, notify you of your requirements sufficiently in advance, answer any questions that you may have, and send all required documentation to the Office of Fair Trading on your behalf.

To comply with the requirements of the Agents Financial Administration Act 2014, any licensee operating and trust account is required to lodge an original, signed audit report with the Chief Executive of the Office of Fair Trading (OFT) every year. The yearly audit programme must incorporate one annual audit and two unannounced visits to the licensed premises.

Failure to engage and auditor or failure to comply with audit requirements can attract penalties of up to $20,000 so it is important to ensure you have an auditor you can rely on.
